Born in Lyon on May 24th, 1869 Albert Andre was to become one of the most renowned of the post impressionist artist. He was a painter, sculptor, writer and museum curator. He began his training in Lyon as a silk pattern designer. He then moved to the medium of painting. In 1894 Renoir was so impressed by his work at the Salon des Independance that he recommended Andre to the famous art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel, bringing Andre's art career to new hights. He is a highly collected master of post impressionism and his auction records speak volumes as to the value of this mans work.
